Impressive results with no healing time

Dysport® is one of the most effective cosmetic injectable treatments for facial wrinkles in the field of appearance medicine. Very few treatments produce such impressive results, with no healing time required. Dysport® is a muscle weakener derived from bacteria, the Botulinum toxin has been purified for use in humans. Dysport® is used to treat “frown lines” which are sometimes called “scowl lines” or “worry lines”. These are the lines seen between the eyes and on the bridge of the nose. In addition, Dysport® cosmetic injections are used for “crow’s feet” wrinkles and forehead wrinkles. Dysport® can also be used for the bands (known as platysmal bands) that develop underneath the chin and extend to the neck. Botulinum toxin is also used to treat migraine headaches, tooth grinding, and excess sweating.

At Vital Face and Vein, we use only the New Zealand Ministry of Health fully registered and approved neuromodulator cosmetic injectable treatments such as Dysport®. Contact us today to book a Botulinum toxin consultation.

What to expect during & after Dysport®

We allocate a 30 minute appointment to inject Dysport® neuromodulator directly into the area where results are desired. Our wrinkle treatment uses a fine needle to inject the appropriate amount of Dysport®, which varies depending on each patient’s specific needs. Our doctors’ goal is to produce natural-looking results with Dysport® injections, relaxing the muscles just enough to reduce wrinkles without compromising normal facial expressions.

How much recovery time is needed?

How many treatments are needed for optimal results?

Usually, only one wrinkle treatment is necessary. Once the injections wear off (3-5 months), it is usual to come back for another treatment session.

How does it work?

Dysport® injections work by blocking nerve impulses that are responsible for the contraction of muscles. When the muscles aren’t able to contract the area appears relaxed and softer, giving a wrinkle-free, more youthful appearance. The only muscles affected are the ones in the immediate treatment area where the wrinkle treatment is injected, allowing normal facial expression to retain a natural appearance.

Be in safe hands for your treatment

When will I start seeing results?

You will see the results of your Dysport® wrinkle treatment within 3-5 days. The final result may take 14 days.

How long do the results last?

The effects of Botulinum toxin begin between 24-72 hours and the effect lasts an average of 3 – 4 months. There is some evidence that after several repeated injections, the effects last longer. We frequently combine filler treatments and skin treatments with Dysport® as it helps to smooth the areas to be treated and give superior results.

Do Dysport® injections hurt?

The Dysport® wrinkle treatment is minimally uncomfortable, but some patients experience a slight tingling sensation or soreness in the injected area for a brief time. However, if the patient requires, a topical anesthetic may be applied before the procedure to minimise discomfort. Some patients like ice before injections but others find this causes an ‘ice-cream’ headache so we do not routinely use ice.

Dysport®

Dysport® is a neuromodulator wrinkle treatments that work by relaxing the muscles that cause wrinkles. Botox® is the most famous and popular non-surgical cosmetic treatment with more than 11 million people treated in the United States alone. Dysport ® has also been used for many years and many patients prefer the wider action of Dysport ®.

How much does Dysport® cost?

Each patient’s needs are different and therefore cost depends on the individual. Call our office and we can schedule a consultation with our doctors at our Wellington clinic to see how much your personalised treatment will cost.
